THE ETERNAL DERBY - CRVENA ZVEZDA vs PARTIZAN




The Eternal derby, also called the Derby of Southeast Europe, is the local derby in Belgrade, Serbia, between the fiercest city rivals Red Star Belgrade and Partizan Belgrade, two of the biggest and most popular sports societies in Serbia. The rivalry is present in a number of different sports but the most intensive matches are between football, basketball and handball sections of both societies. It started immediately after the creation of the two clubs in 1945 and the two clubs have been dominant in domestic football since then.

An important aspect of the Belgrade derby are the fans that create an impressive atmosphere with loud cheering and original choreography. Both sides prepare intensely between the matches, make large flags and special messages that are appropriate for that particular occasion, to be usually directed towards the opposing side. The supporters of Red Star are Delije, and the supporters of Partizan are Grobari.

The Eternal Belgrade derby matches were always greatly anticipated in the entire region and very popular in the world. It is considered one of the most fiercely derbies in world football. There are many derbies in world football but very few compare to this, it is more than just game and has a deeper meaning. In September 2009, British Daily Mail ranked the Eternal Belgrade derby 4th among the 10 greatest football rivalries of all time. In Аpril 2012, the Italian goalkeeper legend Walter Zenga told the Italian media, there are no more exciting derby than the Belgrade derby. The biggest attendance for a Red Star - Partizan match was about 108,000 spectators at the Red Star Stadium.

Clubs from Macedonia: BC MZT Skopje


KK MZT Skopje (Macedonian: КК МЗТ Скопје) is a basketball club based in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. They currently play in the Macedonian First League and the Adriatic League from 2012. The club's home ground is Jane Sandanski Arena.
KK MZT Skopje was formed in 1966 under the name KK Skopje by a group of enthusiasts led by the first president of the club Mile Melovski.
In its history, MZT Skopje has won the Macedonian League Championship 7 times (1970,1971,1972,1973,1974,1979,2012) and theMacedonian Cup 5 times (1996, 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2012).
Their current trainer is Ales Pipan from Slovenia.
The supporters are a huge part of the club. The supporting group is Family Aerodrom, and they follow MZT on every game, no matter where they play.

Clubs from Macedonia: HC Metalurg


RK Metalurg Skopje (HC Metalurg Skopje) (Macedonian: РК Металург Скопје) is a team handball club from Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.
The club was founded in 1971 under patronage of the Skopje steel industry. There, an idea was born to form a team composed of employees that worked in the nearby steel mill. Nikola Bogdanovski accepted the idea after it was reviewed by the board of directors. So, RK Metalurg was created.
After the independence of Republic of Macedonia, HC Metalurg has been a national champion 5 times, and a conqueror of the Cup of Macedonia 4 times.



Their current trainer is the Croatian Lino Cervar.

This season they are competing in the national league, the SEHA regional league, and the European Champions League. They have entered the quarterfinals of the Champions League, which has never been done by a Macedonian club till now. In the SEHA league, last year they took the second place.
