LATEST FASHION TRENDS 2013/2014

Latest Fashion Trends 2013/2014 – Winter/Spring

Black and white
The dynamic black and white prints with hypnotic effect has turned the simplest creations in visual spectacle. Graphic prints undoubtedly continue to rule the fashion scene.

Skin
The skin is not unexpected actor in film fashion dictates new trends. In fact, it is impossible to spend the cold season without the apparent dominance of the skin. The biker jacket is without doubt the safest way to "steal" this trend. Creations with leather pants are the ideal choice for a strong impression.

Fur
Stress the elegance and extravagance with fur details. Fur collars, scarves and gloves, and also jackets with fur details add luxury in ladylike appearance.

Plaited pattern
Most notable print that stands out above the others is plaited. Plaited pattern in several variations is found on coats, skirts, shirts and accessories as part of a new wave of rebel fashion.

Military
Warrior inspiration boldly marched to the design imagination, and now reached the streets. Pattern, and color of military uniforms and jackets in militaristic style again fearlessly enter into street fashion.

Grey
Also, this winter black and white combinations replace them with their mix. The gray color is a feature of sophisticated, classic and elegant woman, so do not miss this trend.

Cloaks
Cloaks are the most modern, interesting and practical piece of autumn clothing that every woman should have in her wardrobe.

Sweaters
Winter is the ideal time for your favorite, warm and comfortable sweater to remove somewhere in the forefront of the wardrobe. You can easily combine them with simple jeans, coat, scarf and high boots.

Burgundy shades
Burgundy shades from brightest to darkest, this fall is the most common choice of brave men.

Wraps and scarves
Wraps and scarves are the ideal choice for cold days, in which every fashion combination will provide a dose of warmth and relaxation.

FILM REVIEWS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

TV Series you should watch

SUITS

I haven’t really found any good TV series lately, they all look alike. But of course, there always are exceptions. Like Suits, one of the few good TV series I’ve seen. It’s certainly something new, refreshing the boring and dull American series which lose themselves in the too long story.
While running from a drug deal gone bad, Mike Ross, a brilliant young college-dropout, slips into a job interview with one of New York City's best legal closers, Harvey Specter. Harvey takes a gamble and hires Mike on the spot after he recognizes his raw talent and photographic memory. Mike and Harvey are a winning team. Even though Mike is a genius, he still has a lot to learn about law. And while Harvey may seem like an emotionless, cold-blooded shark, Mike's sympathy and concern for their cases and clients will help remind Harvey why he went into law in the first place.
Suits is smart, sassy, clever, sophisticated, timely and incredibly entertaining. If you’re looking for a show that will keep you awake, this is it. I bet you’ll be amazed. You’ll never find yourself bored, and you won’t be able to wait till the next episode.

Films not to watch

Dark Shadows

When hearing the name of Tim Burton, you expect to be amazed, to be stunned. The cast guided by Johnny Depp, continuing with Michelle Pfeiffer and ending with Helena Bohnam Carter can’t be more attractive. You can’t wait to see this film, and you end up with the biggest disappointment you could get. The story sounds interesting, but seeing it on the screen, not so much.
In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet-or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy...until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets.
I really liked all the previous Tim Burton  works, but this one was a disaster. Burton spent so much effort and time worrying about making this film Gothic and off pace, stuffing his favorite actors into the film even though half of their parts were pointless, he forgot he was making a film. There are hardly any entertaining moments, an extremely weak plot, and some very average acting. Sure, Johnny Depp may be a brilliant actor, but there's only so much an actor can do to salvage an immensely boring film. For me this movie was only a waste of time, and I don’t recommend it to anyone.

PERFUMES

Welcome to the world of perfumes - wonderful magic drops placed in fancy bottles
Each perfume is different and tells a different story. We use them daily, to emphasize our femininity or masculinity, leaving a trail as we pass by. We just can’t do without them. Everyone has its own favourite perfume, and it depends on the taste and how much money you can afford to spend, what kind of perfume you are going to buy. Perfumes have been used even in The Ancient Egypt, and the first perfumes date back to 4000 years B.C.

Would you like to know how many flowers are needed to produce a 20ml perfume?

Even 1,000 jasmine flowers are needed for one of the most expensive perfumes Chanel No.5. These flowers are harvested exclusively in the town of Grasse Cote d'Azur. They have been grown by the Mill family for more than five decades.

‘It is the most expensive jasmine in the world, it has a sweet fragrance, and it is softer and less aggressive than the exotic jasmine. The perfume would be completely different if the flowers were grown in another location’ said Joseph Mill for the “Independent”.
The flowers are picked by hand and the harvesting lasts for 3 months engaging 70 people. 8,000 rows of jasmine need to be harvested for only 1kg of jasmine flower petals. This type of jasmine is 20 to 30 times more expensive than the jasmine in Europe or in India.

,,The perfume is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate fashion accessory that announces your arrival and prolongs your departure . – Coco Chanel

HOW TO CHOOSE WHAT TO STUDY IN COLLEGE

As a student in the fourth year I am faced with a decision about what to study in college. The same applies to all the fourth year students. Most of us have already made a decision about their future studies but some of us are still undecided. Since this is a very important issue for us we talked to several college students about how they chose what to study and what kind of advice they have for those who are still undecided.

Six tips to help you choose what to study in college

1. Look to your family for insight
Sometimes it's hard to recognize your own strengths and skills. Your family and close friends are a great sounding board when it comes to outlining your talents and tapping into your passions.
2. Consult your academic advisor
Academic advisors and college counselors are trained to help students figure out what they want to do with their lives and how to go about achieving their goals.
3. Consider different career paths within an industry that you love
Instead of focusing on a particular job, delve into different aspects of an industry that interests you.
4. Focus on what makes you happy
Not only does your major determine what you'll be studying during your time as an undergraduate, but it also influences your future career. Instead of focusing on immediate pay-off, look for something you'll enjoy in the long run.
5. Follow you dreams, no matter how big they may be
You can aim high—just put a plan in place. Study what you love, apply for internships at companies you're interested in, and create goals you can act on.
6. Don’t know what you want to do yet? Don’t worry - big decisions take time
Weigh the pros and cons. Make lists. Talk to friends and family. And if you still don't know what you want to study, look into creating your own major, or doubling up in a few things that interest you. You will eventually find your calling, and it’s okay if you don’t know exactly what that is right now.
